How do I add a Template for use in a Turnitin Assignment?
You will learn how to upload a Template for use with your Turnitin Assignment in your Canvas course.
Follow these steps after you have (or are in the process of) created your Turnitin Assignment.
1. Enter your course and click on the link to your Turnitin Assignment.
2. Click on Edit Settings.
3. Click on Upload File.
4. Click on Browse Files.
Tip: Files must be less than 100 MB. To exclude text from Similarity Reports, templates must contain at least 20 words.
File types supported for upload: .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .ps, .pdf, .html, .rtf, .odt, .hwp, .txt
5. Navigate to your template file.
6. Navigate to your template file.
7. Click on Save.
8. The Template has uploaded.
A template gives students a starting document they can download and use while writing. Template text is automatically excluded from the similarity score.
Note: You can only add or edit a template before the first submission.
9. Click on Save Assignment.
10. When students click on the Assignment link, they will see the link to the template.
