Is my web browser up-to-date?

You will learn how to check to see if your Chrome web browser is up-to-date and ready for use in Canvas. Other web browsers may have a similar process for enabling or disabling features.

1. Go to this Instructure webpage.

This Instructure (owner of Canvas) web page will check your web browser to see whether it has all of the necessary components installed and enabled in order to effectively utilize Canvas, including JavaScript, Cookies, Local storage and Session storage.

2. Verify your web browser version.

Follow these steps to enable JavaScript in Chrome.

1. Click on the Three Dots menu.

5. Scroll down to JavaScript and click on it.

7. Refresh the Instructure web browser check page.

8. This page should now display properly.

Tip: if it is still not working, you should check to see if you have a browser extension which is blocking JavaScript, such as uBlock Origin or Cookie Delete.

Follow these steps to enable third-party cookies in Chrome.
