How do I convert a New Quizzes quiz to a Classic Quizzes quiz?
You will learn how to convert a New Quizzes quiz (which uses Item Banks) to a Classic Quizzes quiz (which uses Question Banks). This may be necessary if the Classic Quizzes features are more suitable to what you want to achieve with this quiz.
After you complete this process, be sure to verify that the questions have transferred and that they are connected to the quiz. If your New Quizzes quiz has any question types that are unique to the New Quizzes format (such as Stimulus, Categorization, Ordering, Hot Spot), then those particular questions will not transfer.
1. Enter your course and click on Quizzes in the course navigation.
2. Click on the Three Dots menu for your New Quizzes quiz.
You must be in the Quizzes page in order for this to work.
3. Select Build from the dropdown menu.
4. Click on the Three Dots menu.
Tip: You could likewise click on the Exports tab.
5. Select Export Content from the dropdown menu.
6. Click on the 'exports' link.
If you do not see this link, click on the Exports tab and you should see the link for the latest prepared export.
7. Click on the link.
8. Click on Return.
9. Click on Settings in the course navigation.
10. Click on Import Course Content.
11. Use the dropdown menu to select 'QTI .zip file'.
12. Click on Choose File.
13. Double-click on the zip file you just downloaded.
By default this zip file should be in your Downloads folder.
14. Click on Import.
15. Wait until you receive the Completed message.
16. Click on Quizzes in the course navigation.
17. We now have two quizzes.
The first one listed in this screenshot is the Classic Quizzes quiz which is the copy. The second quiz is the original New Quizzes quiz.
1. Using the Three Dots menu, select Manage Question Banks.
2. The Item Banks have been converted to Question Banks.
