How do I re-use or copy a VoiceThread?
You will learn how to re-use one or multiple VoiceThread projects.
Copying a VoiceThread allows you to re-use existing ones without having to recreate them from scratch.
1. Log into VoiceThread.com by clicking on the Sign in button.
Likewise, you can go to https://fullerton.voicethread.com.
2. Type "Fullerton" and select "California State University Fullerton" from the dropdown menu.
3. Click on Sign in.
You will be directed to the portal authentication where you will enter your CSUF username and password.
Decide whether you want to copy a single VT or several VTs.
1. Select the desired VT from the existing projects list.
2. Click the select button to make additional choices visible.
3. Click on the "Copy" icon.
4. Give your VT a new tittle.
It is recommended to remove the words "Copy of" as that may confuse students when they see it. Perhaps consider naming it according to the course name and term, such as "Hola Spring 2021 Spanish 101 01".
5. Decide whether to keep the comments from this VT.
If you want to use this VT in a new course, then you should select to either "include only my comments", if you have posted comments in your VT that would also be useful for your new class of students (such as a recorded video greeting which will start off the discussion), or, perhaps, you may want to choose to not include any comments. However, if you want your students to see a sample recording or you have verbally provided directions, those will not be copied. In that case, you may want to consider selecting to copy your comments, or you will need to make a new comment.
6. Click on Copy.
7. The "Success!" window will appear. Click Done to confirm.
The new version of your VT will show in the list with the new name.
1. Click the Courses heading in the list that appears on the left side of the screen.
2. Select the VTs you want to copy by clicking the tick box.
4. Give your VTs new titles (1).
5. Decide whether to keep the comments from these VTs (2).
If you want to use these VTs in a new course, then you should select to either "include only my comments", if you have posted comments in your VTs that would also be useful for your new class of students (such as a recorded video greeting which will start off the discussion), or, perhaps, you may want to choose to not include any comments.
