How do I use TestFlex to mark, grade, and deal with exceptions in an in-person test?
You will learn how to use TestFlex to grade and deal with exceptions after you have scanned and uploaded the student answer sheets.
Follow these steps after you have uploaded your scanned answer sheets.
1. Click on See Results.
Likewise, you can navigate to your course and test to review the uploaded answer sheets.
2. The next step is to review any flagged exceptions by clicking on the Exceptions number.
The exceptions that TestFlex finds will be concerning answer sheets that might not be filled out correctly or have multiple answers marked or cannot be connected to the student they belong to.
You can click on the Exceptions (1), the Flagged Images (2), or the Open Responses (3) where issues are detected.
Likewise, you can click on the student's name (4) to review that student's submission.
3. The Open Response exception appears which you can fix by typing in the grade for that item.
4. Click on Save Data.
5. Click on the Flagged Images issue.
6. Click on 'Yes, regrade the test'.
Looking at the answer sheet, you can see in this case that the student did not do a good job of filling in the Student ID.
7. Using the dropdown menu, select the appropriate student.
8. Click on Regrade Test.
9. You can now see that there is data available for all of the students in that course.
In this case, all of the exceptions have been handled.
10. You can use the three dots menu for some additional options.
Download Test Images (1) - this will download a PDF of that one student's answer sheet.
Add Comments (2) - You will have a textbox to type a comment.
Regrade Test (3) - TestFlex will re-evaluate that student's answer sheet. However, any grading you have already changed will remain.
Delete Data (4) - TestFlex will remove that student's answer sheet submission. That student's answer sheet will have to be resubmitted via PDF for grading.
The next step is to sync the grades with your Canvas course or to view the Reports and analytics for your test.
