Student: How do I access instructor comments, grades, and rubric for an Assignment?
You, as a student, will learn how to access your Assignment grade, instructor comments, feedback (attached files - audio, video, or documents), and the completed rubric.
1. Enter your course and click on Grades.
Note (1): The number 4 next to the Grades navigation item indicates that 4 assignments have been graded but not yet viewed by you.
If you want to receive an email each time an Assignment is graded or a Comment is made by your instructor, you can adjust your Canvas Notifications.
2. Note the icons on the right of each Assignment.
If the instructor did not use a rubric and did not leave any Comments including audio, video or other file attachments, then these icons will not appear.
3. Click on the Rubric icon to view the rubric.
Note that this icon will only appear if your instructor has graded this assignment using a rubric.
4. The completed rubric appears below.
Note that this icon will only appear if your instructor has sent you a Comment.
5. Click on the Comments icon to see the comments.

Follow these steps to learn how to respond to your instructor's comment or to post a comment of your own.
6.1. Click on the link to the assignment.
6.2. Click on Submission Details (1).
Tip: You can also view the Rubric (2), read existing comments (3) as well as download the original submission (4).
6.3. The SpeedGrader displays with information about your Assignment submission.
Tip: You can read through the comments between you and your instructor; you can add a comment (1), upload a file (2)or make a new media recording (3).
7. If the Comments contain an attached file, a link will display.
8. If a video is in the Comments, then the play button will display with a thumbnail.
9. If an audio recording is in the Comments, then the Play button will display.
