How do I add Proctorio to the course navigation?
You will learn how to add Proctorio to your course navigation, so that you can activate it for that course.
For each course, you must have Secure Exam Proctor (Proctorio) enabled in the navigation tab of the course settings.
Please remember to review UPS documents regarding online instruction requirements for syllabus info on equipment and internet connection requirements, recording of class sessions, accessibility, etc. Many items are addressed in this document:
Policy on Online Instruction (UPS 411.104).
Proctorio usage in the course must be approved at the Assistant Dean level as this is a service that must be paid for.
1. Select Settings within your Canvas course.
2. Select the Navigation tab.
3. Scroll down the page to Secure Exam Proctor (Proctorio).
4. Click on the three dots menu and select Enable.
Note: Even though you are moving this into the course Navigation menu, the Secure Exam Proctor (Proctorio) tab will be hidden from students.
5. Scroll down and click Save at the bottom of the page.
The Proctorio menu item now shows in the Course Menu. The next procedure is to activate it within that course. This part will need to be done for every course where you want to use Proctorio.
6. Click on the Secure Exam Proctor (Proctorio) menu item.
Note: You install the Proctorio web browser extension (and it must be active in the web browser you are currently using) before you proceed.
7. A message will appear stating that the plugin is ready to go.
To utilize the Proctorio Support, you must have the browser extension installed.
