How do I enable Proctorio in a Classic Quizzes quiz?
You will learn how to enable Proctorio within a Classic Quizzes quiz in your course in Canvas.
Note: There are two types of quizzes offered in Canvas: the Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes. Secure Exam Proctor can work with either type but the process to add it is a little different.
1. Click on the link to your Classic Quizzes quiz.
2. Click on Edit.
3. Tick the Time Limit box and then type the number of minutes for the quiz.
4. Tick the box to Enable Proctorio Secure Exam Proctor.
5. Note that Proctorio has now implemented an Access Code for this quiz.
Proctorio requires an Access Code. Do not try to change it or give it to your students.
6. Back at the top of the page, click on Proctorio Settings.
7. Adjust the Proctorio settings as desired.
See the Proctorio help for which settings may be the most useful for your course (note you must have the extension installed, have Proctorio enabled for your course and be logged in to your course).
8. After making changes, click on Save.
9. Note that the name of your quiz has been changed to indicate that it is proctored.
To make the quiz visible to students, you must first publish the quiz. If the quiz is inside of a Canvas module, you must publish the module as well.
To utilize the Proctorio Support, you must have the browser extension installed and be in your course that has the Secure Exam Proctor (Proctorio) menu item enabled.
1. Click on the Extensions icon.
Note: This is for the Chrome browser. Other browsers might have the extension somewhere else.
2. Click on Proctorio.
3. Click on Live Chat or Help and Support Center.
