How do I add captions to the video comments I give students in the SpeedGrader?
You will learn how to make sure that auto-generated captions are added to your video comments/feedback that you provide to your students in the SpeedGrader.
Follow these steps to set your Canvas Studio account to auto-caption and auto-publish your videos. This is necessary because, although you cannot access your video and audio files that you create in the SpeedGrader - except via the SpeedGrader, these videos are indeed in Canvas Studio.
1. Click on Studio.

2. Click on Settings.

3. Use the slider for Enable Auto-Captioning.

4. Use the slider for Enable Auto-Publish for Automatic Captions.

You can now create your SpeedGrader video feedback and have it be auto-captioned.
Follow these steps to learn how to create a video in the SpeedGrader feedback area.
1. Enter your course and click on the Three Dots Menu.

2. Select SpeedGrader.

3. Scroll down to the Insert Video menu.

4. Click on Start Recording to record your video message.

5. Click on Finish when done recording.

6. Click on Save Media.

7. The thumbnail for the video will display in the feedback area.

8. If you immediately click on the video icon, you will see that it does not yet have captions.
It may take a few minutes to a few hours for captions to be generated.

9. The captions icon will appear and then can be turned on or off as desired by the user.
Unfortunately, you cannot edit the captions in any way. You cannot remove them, nor download them.
