How do I Regrade a New Quizzes quiz which uses Item Banks?

You will learn how to regrade a question within a New Quizzes quiz. This may be necessary, for example, if wrong answer choice was inadvertently chosen when you created the question.

Follow this guide for regrading a New Quizzes quiz when you have used one or more Item Banks. This process will only affect students who have already taken the quiz.

1. Enter your course and navigate to your quiz.

2. Use the Three Dots Menu to select SpeedGrader.

3. Scroll down to the question you want to regrade.

4. Click on Regrade.

5. Select the desired answer choice.

For multiple choice/multiple answer questions, you have these types of changes you can make to affect the score of your students who have already taken the quiz.

You can change:

  • the correct answer
  • points value for the whole question
  • points values on individual answers (for multiple answer questions)

6. Click on Regrade.

7. Select how you want to award points for this question

Select one of the following choices:

Award points for correct answer only - Some scores may be reduced; others may be raised.

Award points for both current and previous answers - No scores will be reduced.

Award points for any submitted answer - All students who answer get full credit.

Give everyone full credit - Full credit is awarded to all students who have submitted the quiz.

8. Click on Regrade.

Remember, a Regrade affects all students who have taken the quiz. It does not affect future attempts.
