How do I create a Flip account?
You will learn about Flip (previously known as Flipgrid) and how you can create your own account to use in your course in Canvas.
Flip is a website for creating asynchronous video discussions with your students. With Flip, students can submit short video responses for icebreaker activities, individual responses, discussion topics, and even oral reports or exams. Create a Topic in Flip (using a Canvas Assignment) and directly respond to student videos or have students reply to one another. Flip is an efficient way to promote engagement and community. You can also use the SpeedGrader in Canvas to grade student submissions.
Follow these step to create your Flip account using your CSUF credentials.
2. Decide whether to use your Microsoft account or your Google account.
At Cal State Fullerton every faculty member has a CSUF Google and a CSUF Microsoft account. Use either one to create your new Flip account.
Follow these steps to learn how to sign up with Microsoft.
1. Click on Sign up with Microsoft.
2. Select your Microsoft account if it shows.
3. If you are not logged in to Microsoft, click on Use another account.
4. Type your CSUF email address.
5. Click on Next.
6. Type your CSUF Portal username and password and click on Sign in.
7. Click on Yes, if you are using your own personal computer.
8. You have now created your Flip account.
Follow these steps to login with your Google (Titan apps) account. Since you are connecting this account to your Cal State Fullerton Canvas account, it is recommended that you use your university email rather than a private Gmail account.
1. Start by logging in to the CSUF Portal.
2. Type 'titan apps' in the search field.
3. Click on Titan Apps Employee.
Alert! If you click on Titan Apps, not Titan Apps Employee, you will not be able to log in.
4. Click on Docs.
5. Enter your CSUF Portal credentials.
Tip: you can use your username or your entire email address.
6. Click on Sign In.
7. You are now logged in to your campus Google account.
8. Return to Flip and click on Sign up with Google.
9. Select your CSUF account.
10. You have now created your Flip account.
